Summer 2025 Reflection

Summer 2025 Reflection

Wow, where did the time go? I’m at an inflection point on November 14th. I am looking back at a summer that refuses to go. Today is supposed to be 84F, where is Fall? On the other hand, I’m hosting Thanksgiving in a few weeks and that kicks off the holiday rush. But let’s not talk about that right now. Instead let’s take a peek back at the Summer.

  • Road debris caused extensive floor damage to my daughter’s car.
  • Significant noises in front end of my other daughter’s car.
  • Deck repair that I actually started at the beginning of Summer but was interrupted by auto repair needs.
  • Irrigation pump failed and required a rebuild.
  • Golf cart battery upgrade to LiFePO4 technology
  • Computer CPU upgrade
  • Computer motherboard upgrade
  • Created my grocery game program and process
  • Ran two separate foreclosures on leased space
  • Repaired hog damage on the property
  • Rebuilt my lake shore retaining walls

As you can see I’ve been busy. I have a lot of project documentation to catch up. All of these projects have something cool to talk about and I am a smarter person for completing them. Overall this Summer was nice. It wasn’t too hot but there were hot days don’t get me wrong. It’s just that it could have been worse. The lake level was really good. We were able to float all Summer long. The negative side of the Summer was my immobility. I suffered an injury that severally compromised my ability to get stuff done. I am still in the process of recovering but even with that condition I feel I used my time well. Including the two vacations I was able to take. This is what I imagined retirement to be and I’m lucky to be living that dream.
